One of the world's best toys!

Telling a colleague of my chance to appropriate some lovely large cardboard boxes for a task in hand, the reply was: "You are so easily pleased, lovely cardboard boxes." And I was - also it set me thinking.
Many people, including myself, have made the comment that you can buy a child an exprensive present - but they'll end up playing with the box.
Children will often play for hours with an empty box.

In a galaxy, far away?

I remember when the world was a quieter place, maybe a little less violent, maybe not, maybe a little bit more predictable, maybe not. But now I'm becoming a bit concerned about the dangers we face.
First there is global warming, then creeping acceptability of voilence, lack of respect, political correctness, the compensation culture and, finally, health and safety.
