Dancing the night away

The new Strictly Come Dancing is back on the air and it seems everybody is glued to the set. What's more, you would have assumed many of those taking part would never want to go near a ballroom. Not cool, they would have said, that is until they started tripping the light fantastic. Ask them now and they'll say: "Yes, this is really cool."

Speaking proper Geordie

We ran a story in the Evening Chronicle concerning Ant and Dec. It seems the yanks are keen to have them and their new show, but not their Geordie dialect, which they say is too hard to understand.
Reading this I began to think about real Geordie and started wondered how much of it has disappeared over the years in the wake of mass communication and 24 hour TV.
