Remember the oily rag?

Posted by Ray on September 25, 2006 3:39 PM |

Unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on which way you think, when you lift the bonnet of a modern car there is no way you can fiddle about, it is packed with gadgets.

Remember the old Ford Capri or Humber Hawk you had many years ago.

Some of the old cars may have been rust buckets, but you still spent hours messing about with them, fiddling with the engines, the smell of petrol, the oily rag, cleaning them the spark plugs, putting in centre consuls, special seat covers, great weren’t they.

But I want to know what your favourite old car was and did you give it a name, such as Betty or Sam, surprisingly, many people did.
